Biscuits with
the Boss

What we learned from the club about Ted's morning biscuit operation, and what we recommend building first.

1

The recipe lives in Ted's head

There is no written recipe. There has never been a written recipe. Coach Beard has observed the process but describes his knowledge as "vibes-based."

2

Demand has outgrown the boss

Keeley, Higgins, and most of the Diamond Dogs now expect biscuits. Production is still sized for an audience of one: Rebecca.

3

The pink box is a single point of failure

One supplier, ordered ad hoc, stored in Ted's flat. A box shortage in March delayed delivery by 40 minutes and, reportedly, the entire day.

4

Delivery timing is non-negotiable

The biscuits must land on Rebecca's desk before her 9:00 a.m. call sheet review. There is no documented backup plan if Ted is on the bus.

"The recipe isn't written down anywhere. It's in Ted's head, and a little bit in mine. Mostly his."

Coach Beard · Assistant Coach

Confirmed by 4 of 4 Diamond Dogs. The undocumented-recipe pattern is the strongest signal that the operation has a bus factor of exactly one mustachioed man.

A single batch of biscuits touches five steps between Ted's kitchen and Rebecca's desk. The hand-offs, not the baking, are where the operation is most fragile.

Where we'd start: document the recipe, second-source the pink boxes, and cross-train Coach Beard as backup baker. The 9:00 a.m. window is sacred; everything upstream of it needs redundancy.
